Classes & Programs

Good Shepherd Christian Preschool offers many classes and programs for you to choose from for your child.

Toddler Time 

 

A program for 2 year-olds.

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9:00am-11:15am

or

Monday & Wednesday: 9:00am-11:15am

 

Your child must be 2 years old  by September 1.

 

As a first school experience for our youngest learners, this drop-off class is an introduction to both a school routine and learning through play among new friends. The class follows a toddler age-appropriate curriculum focused on multiple types of learning through play, sensory experiences, and more. Students have the opportunity to participate in all school activities such as class holiday parties, weekly chapel sessions, and assemblies as appropriate. Children do not need to be potty trained to register. This class enrolls up to 8 students with a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher in the room daily.  

3 year-old Class

 

A program for 3 year-olds.

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9:00am-11:30am

 

Your child must be 3 years old by September 1 & potty trained.

 

Our 3-year-preschool classes are designed as a chance for students to engage with peers and teachers in an early learning environment. Students will enjoy a daily routine of art, science, reading, math, and group play while learning to follow basic school rules and expectations. Students have the opportunity to participate in all school activities such as class holiday parties, weekly chapel sessions, field trips and assemblies as appropriate. Offered Tuesday/Thursday, this class enrolls up to 16 students with a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher in the room daily. 

 

Learning Together Class

 

A program for 3 and 4 year-olds.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday:

9:00am-11:30am

 

Your child must be 3 years old  by September 1 & potty trained.

 

A bridge between our 3-year old preschool class and 4-year old Pre-K class, this program is designed for students who would benefit from the chance to explore with learners of all ages. Children will enjoy learning and working together as they explore the basics of literacy, math, science, and art. Students have the opportunity to participate in all school activities such as class holiday parties, weekly chapel sessions, field trips and assemblies as appropriate. This class registration is by teacher recommendation or birth date requirement only, as to best serve the needs of the students. This program enrolls up to 14 students with a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher in the room daily. 

 

4 year-old Pre-K Class

 

A program for 4 year-olds. 

Monday, Wednesday, Friday:

9:00am-11:30am OR 12:00pm-2:30pm

 

Your child must be 4 years old  by September 1 & potty trained.

 

Our 4-year Pre-K classes are geared towards students aged 4. Students will enjoy a daily routine of STEM activities, art, and group play while focusing on social and emotional readiness for kindergarten. Students have the opportunity to participate in all school activities such as class holiday parties, weekly chapel sessions, field trips, and assemblies as appropriate. This course can enroll up to 16 students with a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher in the room daily. Both morning and afternoon classes are available for this program.

 

Junior Kindergarten

 

A program 5 year-olds.

Monday-Friday: 9:00am-1:00pm

 

Your child must be 5 years old  by December 31

 

A kindergarten prep class designed for children who miss the age cut off for kindergarten enrollment, or for students who would benefit from an extra year for their own readiness socially, emotionally, and academically. This course provides a basic kindergarten curriculum appropriate for ages 5 and 6 years old. Students will learn to problem solve, explore, and engage with coursework similar to that presented in a typical public kindergarten classroom. Students have the opportunity to participate in all school activities such as class holiday parties, weekly chapel sessions, field trips and assemblies as appropriate.  This class registration is by teacher recommendation or birth date requirement only. This class enrolls up to 16 students with a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher in the room daily. 

 


Special Extended Day Programs are provided to give parents some flexibility in their schedules by a later pick-up time. 

All of these programs are open to 3–5 year-olds and are offered after preschool sessions.

Discovery Days

Monday-Friday 11:30am-2:30pm

$25 for the entire time

Discovery Days is a unique learning experience for children enrolled in our 3-year old, 4-year old, Learning Together and Junior Kindergarten classes. (Toddler Time students are not eligible) For an additional daily fee, students have the opportunity to stay for different sessions depending on timing. The sessions are as follows:

 

Lunch Bunch:

11:30am-1:00pm

$10/day

Children will have the opportunity to stay after the conclusion of their morning classes ending at 11:30am and enjoy lunch time together with peers, as well as a chance to engage in group play and sensory experiences. Students may leave at 1:00pm or stay for the duration of Discovery Days for an additional fee. 

 

Discovery Days:

1:00pm-2:30pm

$15 for students arriving from Junior Kindergarden. 

Children will have the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of planned STEM activities, themed units, and group play. This session is treated as an additional class and is taught by a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher. 

 

Registration for Discovery Days sessions are on a first-come, first-serve basis each week. Since the needs of children and roster change daily, this class is best for students who would enjoy an extended day of school with a changing cast of peers and activities. 

 

Soccer Shots

 

Soccer Shots is a leader in youth soccer developement for children. This nationally recognized program offers a high energy, fun, age-appropriate introduction to the wonderful game of soccer. 

 

This program is offered througout the school year. 

 

Registration is handled by Soccer Shots directly.
